The Good AI Lab and Doctors Without Borders partner to bring responsible AI to humanitarian work

We’re proud to share that The Good AI Lab is partnering with Doctors Without Borders – MSF Italy.

This partnership carries special meaning for us. At a time when power over emerging technologies concentrates behind closed doors, we choose a different path: building openly, accountably, and in service of everyone. Our mission is to keep AI knowledge, resources, and influence in the hands of the many – especially those on the front lines of care. Together with MSF, we’re working toward a future where AI strengthens humanitarian action, protects dignity, and expands access across borders.

The collaboration will focus on two major workstreams: AI Training and AI Strategy. AI Training will consist of a series of sessions with MSF personnel – from directors to field operators – building a shared understanding of how AI can support humanitarian work in practice. AI Strategy will bring our researchers together with MSF leadership and innovation managers, determining how AI can be responsibly integrated into MSF’s operations and long-term planning.

Innovation without purpose is hollow. And as we shape the future, we must not lose sight of what guides us.

AI doesn’t come with an inherent purpose – it’s up to us to define and defend one. We believe that in serving organisations like MSF, AI finds its purpose. 🌱
