Alessio's background in AI research started with classical computer vision (motion synthesis), before he refocused his PhD on robotics and agentic AI. He spent a year building foundations in robotics, including a visit to the PEARL lab at TU Darmstadt, and now works mainly on agents for robotics, including zero-shot manipulation, test-time adaptation, world models, and interpretability.
